How to Use Greebler Plugin in Cinema 4D R20
Greebler is a plugin that helps you add detail to 3D objects for enhancement of apparent size or realism. It allows you to extrude and populate the surfaces of your models with various shapes and objects. You can also use custom greeble shapes and objects, control the density and coverage of the details, and apply different materials and selections to different areas. Greebler works with Cinema 4D R13 รข R20, but you need to install Insydium Bridge to use it in R20.
Step 1: Install Insydium Bridge
Insydium Bridge is a free plugin that allows you to use older plugins that are not compatible with Cinema 4D R20. You can download it from Insydium's website. After downloading, unzip the file and copy the Bridge folder to your Cinema 4D plugins folder. Restart Cinema 4D to load the plugin.
Step 2: Get a new Greebler serial number
If you have an existing license of Greebler, you need to get a new serial number to use it in R20. To obtain a new license, please contact Robert, the developer of Greebler, with your new Cinema 4D or Multi-License Server 11-digit serial number, in the same format as provided during the original purchase[^1^] [^2^]. You will enter that new Greebler serial number into your new C4D/MLS to register the plugin.
Step 3: Install Greebler plugin
You can download Greebler from Toolfarm's website. After downloading, unzip the file and copy the Greebler folder to the same folder as Bridge in your Cinema 4D plugins folder. Restart Cinema 4D to load the plugin.
Step 4: Use Greebler plugin
To use Greebler, create a new object or import an existing one. Then, create a new Greebler object from the Plugins menu. Drag your object under the Greebler object in the Object Manager. You will see some details added to your object automatically. You can adjust the parameters of the Greebler object in the Attributes Manager, such as Detail Level, Sparsity, Beveling, Extrusion, etc. You can also add custom shapes and objects to your greebles by using the Library Manager or dragging them under the Greebler object. To control where and what details go onto your object, you can use Greebler tags in conjunction with Polygon Selection tags.
