How to Edit Videos with Ulead Video Studio 6

Ulead Video Studio 6 is a video editing software that was developed by Ulead Systems in the 90's. It allows users to edit video contents in a professional style with a wide range of tools and effects. Ulead Video Studio 6 was later acquired by Corel and renamed as VideoStudio, which is still one of the most popular video editing software today.

Step 1: Import Videos

To import videos into Ulead Video Studio 6, you need to switch to the Capture tab and select the source of your video. You can capture video from a camcorder, a TV tuner, a DVD player, or a webcam. You can also import video files from your computer by clicking on the File button and browsing for the files you want to edit.

Once you have imported your videos, they will appear in the Library panel on the left side of the screen. You can preview them by double-clicking on them or dragging them to the Preview Window on the right side of the screen.

Step 2: Trim and Split Clips

To trim and split clips, you need to switch to the Edit tab and drag the videos you want to edit from the Library panel to the Timeline at the bottom of the screen. The Timeline shows you the sequence of your video clips and allows you to adjust their duration and order.

To trim a clip, you can use the Trim Handles at the beginning and end of each clip on the Timeline. You can drag them left or right to shorten or lengthen the clip. You can also use the Preview Bar under the Preview Window to select the point where you want to trim the clip and click on the Trim Mark In or Trim Mark Out buttons.

To split a clip, you can use the Split Video button on the Toolbar. With a clip selected on the Timeline, move the Preview Bar under the Preview Window to select the point where you want to cut the clip and click on the Split Video button. The clip will be divided into two parts.

Step 3: Add Transitions and Titles

To add transitions and titles, you need to switch to the Effect tab and select the type of effect you want to apply from the Effect Library panel on the left side of the screen. You can choose from various categories of effects, such as Transitions, Titles, Filters, Overlays, and Audio.

To add a transition between two clips, you can drag an effect from the Transition category to the gap between them on the Timeline. You can preview how it looks by playing back your video in the Preview Window. You can also adjust the duration and direction of the transition by double-clicking on it and changing its properties in the Options panel.

To add a title to your video, you can drag an effect from the Title category to an empty track above your video clips on the Timeline. You can then double-click on it and type your text in the Options panel. You can also change its font, size, color, alignment, animation, and other settings in the Options panel.

Step 4: Apply Filters and Effects

To apply filters and effects, you can drag an effect from any other category in

the Effect Library panel to a clip or a title on the Timeline. You can then double-click on it and adjust its properties in

the Options panel.
