In 2009, it was officially announced that U2 would be appearing on the soundtrack for the next James Bond film - Quantum Of Solace. In the film, they will perform a cover of the song Stay The Same from their 1990 album Achtung Baby.
In 2007, there were reports that U2 would be a part of the soundtrack for the James Bond film No Country for Old Men. In 2008, however, it was confirmed that the songs U2 performed in the film would be released on an album on the soundtrack.
U2 held a special concert in Dublin on the 20th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King. The artists won with the song No Line on the Horizon which became the theme song of the Football World Cup of 2010.
